'Let it go'-Revised Edition

You may have seen my previous blog post, in which I analyzed the lyrics and meaning of the song, 'Let it go'. A Mrs. Arbogast commented and suggested that I write new lyrics for it. I tried a couple times, then gave up. However, I just couldn't get it out of my mind. Finally, I decided to give it another try. This time, I met with more success. Many thanks to my parents, and Mrs. Arbogast. Here's what I came up with:

The moon glows white in the sky tonight
Not an answer to be seen
The kingdom of my attention
I've been trying to be the queen.

Everything's in turmoil
I've got this raging war inside
Just couldn't win
Heaven knows I've tried

Don't give it up, don't ever flee.
Who am I really supposed to be?
It's such a mystery, I just don't know.
Well, now I know.

Let it go, let it go
I'm gonna do what I'm made for
Let it go, let it go
Turn away and slam the door
I don't care what they're going to say
Let Christ rule on
He's the true king anyway.

It's funny how some distance,
makes everything seem small,
and the sin that once controlled me,
can't rule me at all.

It's time to see how I can prove
My God is God through and through.
No bondage to sin for me!
I'm free!

Let it go, let it go,
I feel like I could fly!
Let it go, let it go,
'Christ is the king' I cry
Here I stand and here I'll stay!
Let Christ rule on!

His power is seen from the air and to the ground!
His glory shows everywhere and all around!
His glory and my sin, what a contrast!
I'm never going back,
This is better than my past.

Let it go, let it go,
He rose like the break of dawn!
Let it go, let it go,
That enslaved girl is gone!
Here I stand in the light of day!
Let Christ rule on,
He's the true king anyway.

Great job! I've been following your blog since Randy Alcorn linked to it. I wonder if matching the number of syllables in the last line of the chorus would help it fit the original music any better. Something like "He's always been the true king anyway." It probably depends on the way you sing it though.

Keep letting your light shine for Jesus (Matthew 5:16)!

How great! I tried to re-write this song too but never really got serious about it... and yours is better anyway! :-) I'm going to try to memorize this!

Awesome lyrics! Seriously, this is really good. This could be an actual song. :)
Keep it up!
