Lifting up the light

Yesterday I was sweeping the treehouse when I saw that my lantern was on the floor. As I lifted it up onto the shelf, I realized that there were quite a few cobwebs on the shelf. Grabbing the broom, I pondered how God's Word is like the lantern. When we read His Word, He lifts up his lantern, exposing the sins and cobwebs in our life. It is not always easy to be reminded of sins, but it is always worth taking care of them.
1 John 1:9
"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive
us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
