Introducing.... Herbert!

Herbert is a common garden snail that Daddy found when he was running by the lake. Herbert (Herbie for short) soon had a new home in a terrarium. I did some research, and here's what I found:

To avoid getting too hot, they are nocturnal, and can hibernate if the weather is uncomfortable. Herbert has to find his food by smelling with his lower set of tentacles, since he has poor eyesight and is deaf. His favorite snack is cucumber, though he can eat many fruits and vegetables. Another thing I found out is that in captivity, they can live for 15-20 years!

Herbert is doing very well, and is eating as much cucumber as he can get his tentacles on!
